Team Setup

3 free6 premium

Most "the bot just stands there" reports are a team problem, not a bot problem. Several run modes expect specific moves in specific slots, or specific Pokémon in a specific party order — and when that is wrong, the bot does exactly what it was told and appears to do nothing.

This page states what each mode actually requires. Everything here is how the bot really behaves, not a general recommendation.

The two ways the bot picks a move(link to this section)Free

Worth understanding first, because it explains why some moves must be in an exact slot and others may go anywhere.

HowWhich movesDoes the slot matter?
By position — clicks a fixed cell in the move gridPay Day, Thief, Imprison, Multi TargetYes. Wrong slot, wrong move used.
By name — reads the move list and finds itSubstitute, False Swipe, Spore, Assist, SoakNo. Put them in any slot.

The move grid is numbered left to right, top to bottom:

   ┌─────────────┬─────────────┐
   │ MOVE 1 │ MOVE 2 │
   ├─────────────┼─────────────┤
   │ MOVE 3 │ MOVE 4 │
   └─────────────┴─────────────┘

So "Move Slot 2" means the top right move, not the second one down.

Pay Day(link to this section)Premium

SlotMoveRequired?
1Pay DayYes
2a spread move (Surf, Earthquake, Rock Slide…)Only for Multi Target (2)

Move 1 must be Pay Day. The bot clicks that cell without reading it, so whatever sits there is what gets used. A team that opens with a damage move in slot 1 will farm nothing and win every battle instead.

2+ Pay Day — when move 1 runs out of PP, the bot switches to the next party member and carries on. That only works if the next Pokémon also has Pay Day in slot 1. Put your Pay Day users consecutively at the front of the party; anything else goes behind them.

Multi Target (2) — after Pay Day, the bot also uses move 2. The point is hordes: a spread move hits all five, so one turn of Pay Day pays out several times. Leave it off if move 2 is single-target, or you are just adding a wasted turn.

Horde — a dropdown, not a checkbox:

  • Farm Horde (default) — fight it out. Five Pokémon means five times the Pay Day.
  • Run from Horde — leave immediately, for a team that cannot clear one safely.

A horde containing a shiny ignores this setting entirely and goes to your shiny options instead. The bot will not run from a shiny because it arrived in a horde.

Thief(link to this section)Premium

SlotMoveRequired?
1ThiefYes
2ImprisonOnly when Imprison is ticked

Move 1 must be Thief. Same rule as Pay Day — the slot is clicked, not read.

Thief only works once per Pokémon: once it is holding a stolen item it cannot steal again.

2+ Thief — switches to a second Thief user so one encounter can yield a second item. That Pokémon also needs Thief in slot 1.

Imprison — used before Thief, in slot 2, to stop the wild Pokémon using the same moves you carry. Tick it only if Imprison is genuinely in slot 2; the bot does not check.

Pay Day + Thief [MIXED](link to this section)Premium

Decides per encounter from your target list:

The encounter is…What happens
on your target list (or All, or Uncaught)Thief it
anything elsePay Day it

So it needs both setups on the same team: Thief in slot 1 of the thieving Pokémon, Pay Day in slot 1 of the Pay Day Pokémon. With target All it thieves everything and never Pay Days — which is usually not what people expect from a mode with "Pay Day" in the name.

Pay Day + Catch [MIXED](link to this section)Premium

Also decides from your target list, but not symmetrically with the mode above — this is the single most confusing behaviour in the bot, so read the table:

The encounter is…What happens
a named species on your listCatch it
UncaughtCatch it
AllPay Day it — not catch
nothing you asked forPay Day it

Target "All" farms rather than catches. That is deliberate and long-standing: "no particular target, so just make money". If you want it to catch things, name them, or use Uncaught. Setting the target to All and wondering why nothing is being caught is the usual cause.

You need Pay Day in slot 1, plus your catching setup (ball, catch moves).

Catch(link to this section)Free

No slot requirements. The catch moves are found by name, so they can sit in any slot — and any the Pokémon does not have are skipped rather than mis-clicked.

Pick the order under Catch Moves Routine:

RoutineOrder
Substitute → False Swipe → SporeThe standard. Substitute absorbs the target's attacks.
Substitute → Spore → False SwipeSleep first when the target hits hard.
False Swipe → AssistFor a Pokémon without a status move of its own.
Soak → False Swipe → SporeSoak makes the target pure Water first.
Soak → False SwipeShorter version of the same idea.

Soak is why the last two exist. Retyping the target to pure Water is what makes False Swipe and a sleep move land on Ghost types and on things that would otherwise resist or be immune.

IV 31 releases anything caught without a perfect IV. It never evaluates a shiny, and it never releases one.

Fight(link to this section)Free

No slot requirements — the bot picks moves by type effectiveness.

Level First switches the target to your lead's level before battling, for levelling a specific Pokémon.

Safari(link to this section)Premium

No moves at all; the Safari Zone does not allow them.

Throw Rock makes a Pokémon harder to catch but more likely to appear; Throw Bait makes it easier to catch but more likely to flee. Tick at most one — they pull in opposite directions.

Pickpocket(link to this section)Premium

Not currently functional. The mode appears in the Run Mode dropdown, but there is no battle logic behind it: selecting it leaves the bot sitting in the encounter doing nothing. Use Thief with Imprison for item stealing until this is implemented.

The intended setup, for when it lands, is a Frisk lead carrying Imprison in slot 2 and a Pickpocket ability holder behind it.

Quick checklist(link to this section)

Before reporting that a mode does nothing:

  1. Is the required move in slot 1 — the top-left cell?
  2. If you ticked Imprison or Multi Target, is that move in slot 2 — top right?
  3. For 2+ Pay Day or 2+ Thief, do the following party members have the same move in slot 1?
  4. For a mixed mode, does your target list say what you think? Re-read the tables above — All does not mean "catch everything".
  5. Does the Pokémon actually still have PP for that move?
